New Taipei City has sustained its momentum and received another award for its sustainability efforts. New Taipei City’s 2021 Voluntary Local Review of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) received awards both in Taiwan and overseas. On November 16 2022, Deputy Mayor Hsieh Cheng-ta attended the 15th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) on behalf of New Taipei City. The city received the white gold award for its 2021 Voluntary Local Review of the SDGs.
The TCSA is sponsored by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), whose mission is to advocate corporate social responsibility, recognize businesses’ efforts in fulfilling their social responsibilities, hold all sectors across Taiwan responsible for their actions, promote sustainable practices, and encourage every sector in Taiwan to pay considerable attention to corporate social responsibility and sustainability topics. This year’s TCSA entries include 424 businesses, 48 universities, 24 hospitals and 20 government agencies. And more than 200 attendees from 14 countries including the United States, Singapore, Germany, and the Netherlands participated in the awarding ceremony, showing the worldwide recognition of the importance of the SDGs and the net-zero transformation.
