As the World Masters Games 2025 is set to open on May 17, New Taipei City welcomes distinguished guests from sister cities and friendly cities across Germany, the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Korea. Recently, New Taipei City mayor Hou Yu-ih received Mayor Mike Coffman of the City of Aurora, Colorado and the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Denver (TCCD) delegation, where both parties exchanged opinions on biomedicine, environmental protection, and various topics.
 
As the third largest city in Colorado, the City of Aurora neighbors the capital of Colorado, Denver, and is among the most important cities in the Denver Metropolitan Area. In 2023, Aurora signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cultural, educational, and economic cooperation with New Taipei City. During the delegation’s visit, they visited the New Taipei City businesses and municipal highlights such as the wafer manufacturer C SUN MFG. LTD., Shuangho Biomedical Park, New Taipei City Main Public Library, and Wugu Charlotte, and learned more about New Taipei’s industries and cultures.

Mayor Coffman expressed special thanks to Mayor Hou for the invitation and his honor for visiting Taiwan to support the Games in person. Mayor Coffman shared that, during his visit, he witnessed Taiwan’s successful industries, government, academia, and research and was particularly impressed by the integrated application of research and industries at the Shuangho Biomedical Park. He was also delighted to see the sizable library serving the people of New Taipei City and expressed hopes for further cooperation with New Taipei City in the future.
