As the 2025 World Masters Games (WMG 2025) draws near, New Taipei City is actively preparing for the event and also participating in the Rainbow Cities Network (RCN) Photo Exhibition to showcase our efforts and achievements in promoting sports equality and diversity. New Taipei’s contribution to this year’s RCN Photo Exhibition – themed Queer Sports – will be under the title Sporting Colors, which integrates elements of the WMG 2025 to demonstrate the event’s inclusivity and respect for all gender identities.

Held annually since 2016, the RCN Photo Exhibition – now in its 10th edition – will be showcased to RCN’s 22 member countries and 55 cities globally. New Taipei’s Sporting Colors centers around the mascot of the 2025 WMG – “Zhuang Bao” or Strong. The mascot’s unique blue, pink, and white color scheme represents the bisexual, transgender, and non-binary communities, effectively communicating the WMG 2025’s commitment to supporting and respecting gender-diverse communities.

New Taipei City is also an avid supporter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to create a diverse, inclusive, and sustainable city where all are respected and supported. Coinciding with the WMG 2025, the RCN Photo Exhibition can serve as a platform for New Taipei City to promote the WMG and demonstrate our firm belief in sports equality and diverse identities. We hope that our participation will allow us to strengthen connections and exchanges with cities around the world.

Since joining RCN in 2020, New Taipei City has participated in the RCN Photo Exhibition every year. In 2023, we organized an international photography competition and selected outstanding works to represent New Taipei at RCN’s International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia  photo exhibition. In 2024, we collaborated with the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan to produce photographs and continued to engage in RCN activities.

The New Taipei City Government participates in this year’s RCN Photo Exhibition under the theme of Sporting Colors, demonstrating the WMG 2025’s support for equality in sports.
